7210 IMEI change?

I've heard fromboth sides; that you CAN and you CANNOT change IMEI on DCT4 phones.

I want to change the IMEI on a 7210, is that possible? If so, with what program???

you CANNOT change the imei on DCT-4 phones mate, its currently worthles if there barred. but i will do a straight trade/swap for my 7210 for yours? im in the uk meaning my 7210 will work in your country and your 7210 will work in mine. if your up for it, give us a email.

@bbrc WRONG

It is possible to change DCT-4 IMEI.

But no by software alone.

simply the process is as follows.

open phone and remove OTP chip (thats One Time Programmable chip) using a hot air station

then "solder" in a new blank chip.

write correct data to chip inc. new IMEI number

access the phones flash with a piece of software and change the IMEI in two places in the flash.

once all IMEI's are the same a "barred" phone will now work again.

The entire process for one phone takes about 10 mins.

Before I get aload of requests to do this I DON'T CHANGE IMEI's

I took 100 handsets from the store I work in to this guy who for £40 pounds each did them. I was there all day and some of the evening watching and waiting for him to do it. But this was in september before the new colour handsets were out and the UK laws changed, haven't seen him since that came in to force.

It was mainly 8310's a few 6510, 6310 and 6310i's

Easier said than done; remember we're talking about overseas trading, which is much riskier than local or even interstate trading. A LOT of trust is required...

hehe, true IF the phone was a stolen phone and if it belonged to me
I'm just curious as the owner of the phone asked me about it and I didn't know, so I figured the best place would be to take it to the NFree forums
