SGH-S300 + UST problems

Hi, I wonder if any of you guys can help me...

I've got a samsung SGH-S300 and a T100 cable which i purchased from here... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=5842068105

I've tried using UST 5.6 and 6.0 pro to unlock/rebuild imei but all i get from the software is

Activating test mode...
No response from phone!

Any ideas? does the cable have to be modified in anyway for it to work with the software?

that doesnt look like a real samsung cable to me

does it have a yellow arrow on the side that fits into the phone thats normally a giveaway if it does i will try to help with my limited knowledge

Its a real sumsung cable, yes it does have the yellow arrow on the end that goes into the mobile.
The serial connector has a samsung sticker saying Download Cable, Model Number PCB037DBE.

I would say there is some sort of data being passed through the cable because the mobile does freeze and lock up when UST is trying to activate test mode

Any ideas?
