D500 Problem.

Hi All,

I've recently been having problems with my D500, and the problem is something to do with the sound. When i slide the phone up it sometimes makes the correct sound but usually nothing and when i slide down always no tones.
Also when the phone is ringing the ringer will play once and then kinda die out.

All of the tones are on, so it must be something else, I have compleatly dismantled the phone following the video but still no joy.


Can anyone recommend a solution for me?

hello my friend...

D500 phones have a common fault... the ribbon cable connecting the two halfs of the phone through the slide wears out very easily...

this can cause no ringer, no earpiece audio, no keypad, no display and also no power!!

i recommend to you that you source a replacement ribbon and fit it, referring to the dismantle vid you were talking about...

Just bought one off of ebay, so hopefully this will cure the problems. I'll post the

I have replaced the cable but i am still having the same problem.

Can anyone think of anything else to try.

i see... what was the problem with the unit you took the ribbon out of? as i say ribbon faults are the most common fault with this model... make sure that you KNOW for a fact your replacing the ribbon with a known good one

Hi Mate, thanks for your help so far.

The ribbon should be a new one, it was sealed when purchased, just seems funny that the problem is still the same as before.

I can sometimes make the phone make the sound by sliding it really slow to close, but this doesn't always work.

Its just so weird.
