What these French will never understand is that the few people that downloaded the cracked version are among those that would anyway never have paid for the sofware ! I downloaded the full version and installed it (Brrrrrrr!! I am scared now, i will go to jail!!!!. And the french prisons are like their toilets, they stink!) . It is so stupid, slow and useless that i unloaded it from my phone 10 minutes later. I am so happy i did not pay for it.

If the sofware developpers are that smart, why don't they make games that we can not crack? If they claim to be market leader, why would they bother about those few 10 people downloading s "shared version". By the way, should I remind them that in France the law is autorizing copies for own, private or family use. First we are considered as private, by the simple fact that we have to register and be approved, we become a private club. Secondly, we are all brothers and sisters, thus familly. And last but not least, we are not asking for any money or do not make a commercial use of our copies. They cannot touch us! Frog eaters! Francais de merde, la grosse tete mais vide de l'interieur! i agree with this site adminstrator and not. So if the french company sent you that letter you should explain to them that some people does not care for the law and it is in benefits of IT industries that the hackers hack some software.

If you remember we've spoken about this type of activity before. At the time you made the point that, no matter how unacceptable you found it personally, as an administrator you had no powers to warn or ban users in this respect as ManOn had not made it a bannable offence.
It's a shame that it has taken this to change his mind and I hope now that he can see now that this type of activity can damage the reputation of a respectable forum.
I say continue to ban the offenders and also ban anyone who complains or bitches about the policies now in place.
This forum existed and thrived before these "members" arrived and will continue to do so despite their absence.
The reputation of this forum was based on the sharing of knowledge and experience of people like ourselves and not on simple and basic "sharing" of illegal software. Let them do that on WINMX or the newsgroups.
The serious professionals and amateur enthusiasts alike will no doubt continue to support this forum and help maintain it as one of the best.
You may have noticed that nearly all of the "offenders" have arrived on the forum in the last couple of months. These new (mis)users have already said that they will go somewhere else. Well let them go. They will not be missed and we do not need them.
We will (and should) of course always welcome new users who respect the rules and at the same time should continue to ban anyone who abuses or disrespects this community.
The idea of having "authorised" uploaders is a good one and shouldn't be too difficult to implement but I think this should only be considered as a last resort. In my opinion enforcing rules should be considered first and is more appropriate in promoting and maintaining an open and honest forum.

as cracking is actually illegal I personally think that what the team from gameloft said is correct. whether or not its for commercial use or for private use, it is still an offence

thereby this forum could undergo some serious legal action if the cracked game isnt removed

it doesnt matter if it is one measley little game, it doesnt matter if the company is french, at the end of the day what was done is illegal and if it was taken the court the judge and jury would not look at the case if it was one silly little game, or even if the company is french, because if the judge and jury decided to rule against the gameloft company because they were french that would be descrimination and then would lead to the judge and jury being sued for descrimination

so at the end of the day the gameloft company have the rights, just as nokia do with the content on cubwolf's site, to take any legal action if what they propose isnt carried out
