View Full Version : Formatting 5510 Mp3 Memory
Can anyone please tell me how I can format the mp3 memory of my 5510 ?
I've tried Windows 2K and DOS, but both fail to complete the formatting of the disk.
Please help, as I cannot use my phone for playing music :(
Thanks,
71M.

Correct me if i am wrong but when you install the 5510 sw on your pc. the computer knows the phone is connected and you can see the content which is on the phone by going to my computer. You will see an xtra harddrive, that's your phone. Select the things you want to delete and press del. good luck
Yup, that's correct.
No files show up though.
When I view the phones memory through AudioManager it shows up as totally full, even after I click Format Media.
I read on another thread that the phones memory is split into 2 sections, one for mp3 / lse files and the other for binary files.
The tag, or whatever it is denotes what memory is used where seems to have been corrupted.
Do you have Hex Workshop ?
If so, could you send me a copy of the memory dump you get from it please.
Many thanks,
Tim.

I found that mine had used up 3189k or something like that and still showed that when formatted and nothing was showing when viewed in explorer
I used error checking on it when it found a chuck of lost data I didn't save and when it was done, the space was all free again :)
I think it must be something to do with the audio manager software
