Hi im a newbie in the mobile phone area but have read nearly every single thread regarding the problem which im having with a Nokia 8250. :(

The phone has the following problems:

1) On startup the screen only displays every second line but when it gets into the main screen, it is all jumbled up.

2) If I try to go into the menu options it automatically turns off.

The phone sometimes hangs and turns off.

I have tried the following to fix the phone:

- Flashed with nearly all version of 8250 (currently 3.18)
- Flashed virgin eeprom (used FAID,Original IMEI and SP)
- Tried several new LCD's
- Cleaned the PCB

Please also note the following:
When the phone charges (in off mode), after a while it automatically beeps and stops charging. If I leave the charger on for another 5-10 minutes the phone turns on fine(screen 100%,signal 100%,no freezing or hanging, full network, calls can be made in/out) but after about 30mins of use it turns off.

My WINTESLA Results are the following:

ouch! this phone really is unwell, as you said you have pretty much covered all the topics, did you damage the phone at all by dropping it or anything or getting it damp or wet? to me personally it sounds like your flash IC may be a wee bit wonky or ready to kick the bucket, try a FULL flash as in .fls file the lot and let me know how you get on.

I feel sorry for you!!

I was running v3.20 on my 8250 and was having quite a few troubles.

I can only imagine what an earlier version is doing!!

I flashed my phone to v5.06 and so far so good!

Good Luck

You notice a small 6 legged IC (30P) beside the CPU (MAD)? Try change that. If that don't work, then you have to change the CPU. Its very complicated thou. IF YOU FAIL THEN KISS GOOD BYE TO YOUR PHONE. If successful, then all the problems above will be solved. I tried that before. Successful chances on 20%. Problem solve 100%.

Try flashing the latest versions 1st before touching hardwares, maybe 5.xx will do.

If not, then maybe it's the CPU. Try fixing it thru hot air, if it still won't work then you have to replace it with a new one.

As what they've said, kinda hard to replace.:)
