Has anyone ever changed the just the lcd on a 8310. i mean not by changing the full front part including the keyboard just the actual lcd and connector part that is joined to the lcd. Is i very hard to do and does in involve destroying the front part to get the old lcd out? Does is go back together well ?
Thanks
:)

Use a stanley Knife blade, slice the heads of the plastic mushroom gromits, lift metal plate away lift LCD out then put new one in place, Replace metal frame, get slodering iron and melt the plastic gromits so the dome over and hold the metal frame down.
u cant go wrong!
I have my 17 year old trainee fitting about 100 lcds in frames each week,

Any probs E-mail me @ [email protected]

thanks
i was 99.9% sure that was the way to do it, i just wanted to get a confirmation. i admit this is a very basic question to ask but i left the NSC before the 8310 came out and we replaced the whole board in a case like this any way.
