recently, i just received a nokia 6510 from friend in USA.

but i found that the handset is diffirent from here, where it don't have a sim card connector!!!

please guide on how to modify the set in order to use it here - Malaysia!

sorry to tell you the 6510 you have got is analogue mobile phone they use analogue in america not digital hard to beleave but true.

The operating bandwith is different in USA and Canada. Unless you get a triband phone, you can't really do much with it there...

Not sure where you guys are getting your information but you've been a little misinformed.

You need to check the model of that phone again. Not sure how you came up with 6510 because the NOKIA 6510 DOES have a sim card connector, it is NOT ANALOG but a dual band 900/1800mhz GSM phone for Europe and Asia NOT the U.S. .

Analog is still supported in the U.S. and Canada however Analog handsets are not offered by the carriers anymore and any build out does NOT include analog radios. Nor do any manufacturers still even manufacturer NEW analog handsets.
