Hi MTL!!!

Thanks for posting the hex for PIC16F628. I personally havent tried it but others have and they say that it works 100%.

If its ok, can I ask your permission to send the hexto other ppl who may want to try it....or is it just restricted to this forum.

Please let me know ASAP.

Take Care

I allmost forgot, please send this version of HEX I have attached in this message.

This is same version, but with correct configuration bits allready set, so there will be no need to manualy set them before programming the chip. /n/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Thanks.

Hi Yasser

It should work with both 16F628/04 and 16F628/20, but using 16F628/20 ensures proper working.

/XX means the maximum clock frequency supported by chip.
/04 = 4MHz
/20 = 20MHz

What I have experienced is that 4MHz chip can be 'over-clocked' with 8MHz crystal with no problems when operating
in room temperature (20-25 degrees at Celsius).
( Temperature can affect stability when over-clocking )

So PIC16F628/04 should work without any problems, I can't imagine enyone using flasher-box in -20dg at celsius /n/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

The letter after /XX means only package information:
p = PDIP ( Most popular package type in home-made devices )
so = SOIC ( Surface mounted, hard to solder if no earlier experience in soldering )
ss = SSOP ( Surface mounted, eaven harder to solder without soldering experience )

About my name... Letters M.T.L are initials of my full name, but I'd rather not reveal my real name over the Internet when talking about half-illegal device /n/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
(Besides, I live in same country where Nokia HQ is. They could find me too easily. heh /n/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif )
