Thanks to you learned techies I was able to buy a phone off Ebay that was advertised as a Cingular phone and arrived an AT&T phone. I managed to go into NAM1 without being connected to a cable or software and change the parameters to work with Cingular.
After reading, reading, and more reading, I had the following unanwered questions. Any help is appreciated.
1. The phone still displays SunCo AT&T instead of Cingular. How can I change this?
2. My 3360 phone does not have an option 10 for Internet Services on the menu. Last menu option is 9 (infrared). Nok website says it has a browser but I can't get to it. Help.
Merry Christmas!

Do you know what kind of network is currently used in your area? I know that in the western region, Cingular is GSM only, which the 3360 is not

also, as far as I know, there IS no internet access on some of the 3360 depending on which network it rides on.

Thanks for the repy. I verified it is a TDMA phone and now I am using it on a TDMA. I also went to the Cingular store and checked out the "Internet" capabilites of this phone and they are so slow that I decided against signing up. A snail has faster throughput ;-)

The way you actually change the banner is in the NAM menu, go to change defaults and disable SID alpha tag control. In addition, under NAM1 goto P/RSID 1 and change the SOC to match the SOC in the NAM1 menu. Im in the Dallas area (McKinney), and I sell Cingular at the Mckinney Best Buy.. feel free to email or IM me. We wont be GSM in this market for awhile, but we'll have new phones out soon!

Jon

Hi guys,
Can you help me to switch my phone from US Cellular to AT&T...
Here is what I did:
On working AT&T phone I read SOC from
NAM1 | P/RSID 1 | Operator code
I put this code in my new phone in the same place,
as well as into
NAM1 | Home SOC
NAM2 | Home SOC
NAM3 | Home SOC
and I copied almost all other settings from NAM1 menu...
Yet new phone says it's on US Cellular network (In Field test 21-04 screen)
What else could I possibly do?
Thanks,
AP
