whats wrong with this .re

well, i am tryng to change the factory tones on my 6210>6250.
i changed one of the factory tones. updated checks, flashed, updated faid, and when i scroll to the ringotne it shows up blank (everything else is fine). i was reading the about *.re topic in the newbie section, and looking at the .re, and i think it is the tone length. the tone length should be (i think) the bit in bold, but looking at other ringtones, i can't quite work out what the value is meant to be:

the name length is five "CRYPT" so do i change this to 0005 or 0205 or what?

It looks ok to me, it works in my flash file & plays ok in my 7110 & 3310.

Are you trying to edit it in a hex editor or Notepad?

it sounds ok.
try to upload working one, just remove .txt from filename.

im using hexworkshop, and it plays fine, its just that the name doesnt show up on the list. ie i hav:

tone1
tone2

tone4


also, litefun, that tone you uploaded isn't in .re format....more like rttl

yay, i got it working now...it seems i accidentally put hexworkshop into insert mode, so when i changed the tone id, it added an extra 4 bytes after the toneid which messed up the name... so the version i uploaded to the phone was slightly off

but its all good now, cheers 4 makin me notice that stupid error
