At 3310 if you press *#746025625#
It will show to you the message "Sim clock stop allowed"
What is mean this?
some networks when they print their simcards can put a sim clock function which obviously keeps time and is updated buy the network at intervals. this however causes the sim to be in a constant active mode and hence draws a constant current from the phone. most networks do not include this function however because it would reduce battery time which would piss people off i guess. so the message means that if it was active you are able to stop it if you like.
i have yet to see a network which uses this feature though.
:)
oh i forgot to meantion that it has nothing at all to do with free calls
:)

after you active the simclock stoped, you battery will be in safe mode.(use less current)
but some time you manage to make free call after you active the simclock stoped. i say some time,so it depend on you luck,so you may get free call or not is depand on luck,50 time you try maybe you can get 2 free call.so before you make the call you can try to active it,if you not active it you need to paid for call after you active it you maybe don't need to paid, why not give it a try.

Hi There..
Well this is very strange...
I was told that the code *#sim0clock# was actually a "feature" Nokia designed into their telephone as a help to sales/repairmen.
As i was told it merely tells on screen if the simcard is one that is compatible with simclock stop..
The first simcards had to be powered and clocked continously to function and hence draw a lot of current compared to the new kind where you can stop the clock to the card, forcing it into power down mode to save power..
The feature was implemented so that if a costumer came complaining about poor battery lifetime the person in the shop could punch in this code and see if it was because the card was of an old type..
This also makes alot of sense to me as in my new nokia 6310i this option is not there and this i conclude is because Nokia have decided that it is not needed anymore as everyone would have a simclockstop compatible card these days...
