Hi!
Sorry that I canŽt be of any help...IŽm just very curious about opening the NetMonitor in the 7650 too!
Have you enabled the NetMonitor from your previous phones?
Before the 7650 I had the 9110 and 9210. With those models it was just done with the MBUS cable and a pc programme...
So I think first you need a correct cable to go along with a correct program...or is it possible to open it via bluetooth?
:) :)

could you send me sw please? MiniGPS is it the same.
to Pondscum....
you said "MiniGPS is it the same."
you mean: is MiniGPS and S.W. are the same ?
if so ,the answer is NO!:o
because what i mean S.W. is SoftWare
and the SoftWare's name is PhoneInfo.
so if you already got this software, it may make you disappoint!
anyway i hope you guys enjoy that "S.W."
ps1:what is your Email Address Pondscum?
ps2:i had send that S.W. to you DAVE, go and check your mail!!
good luck!!:D

Netmonitor is an application meant for development and testing purposes of phones and networks. It is not supposed to be used by end users. Netmonitor has been a hidden application in Nokia phones, but as far as I know, it is not installed at all in 7650 phones that are shipped to customers.
Information about current cell (radio channel, signal strength, GSM codec in use (HR/FR/EFR), information about six "neighbor" channels, list of prefered and restricted networks, information about GSM network and current BTS (i.e. Cell Broadcast, Frequency Hopping etc.), information about country and network code, area code (LAC) and current cell ID number, encryption algorithm and DTX mode, logging to different (distant) cells logging to barred cells, information about type, capacity, temperature, voltage and age/wear of the battery, charging process and approximate remaining time, last software/hardware failure, clearing all phone counters, hardware and DSP versions, production date and memory checksum, how many times you've opened your Communicator lid and connected hadsfree and car kit, Headset' profile activation without connecting the HF accessory stacks and memory blocks, successful/failed connections and sent/not sent SMS's, current power consumption, distance from the current BTS.
Don't bother asking Nokia for Netmonitor either. They'll charge you an arm and a leg for it.

i'm a engineer about GSM-site....
we have to trouble-shooting about GSM-site
we depend on NetMonitor, because it's easy to use.
with that application program, we don't have to carry some big and heavy equipement to test the RF.
that's why i need NetMonitor app.
not for fun but job!!
NOKIA6150 is my previous phone and i open the NetMonitor app. inside 6150.....and i took good use of it!!
it really was!!
but 6150 is getting old.....and its menory isnot enought for me to save something in 6150 (like SMS)
one day i saw N7650 have been test-use and post on web-site
including the NetMonitor app.
so i made up my mine to buy N7650......
but now it disappoint me a little bit, according to what you said!
but anyway i'll keep looking and asking for it (but NOKIA corp.) :(
if i have any information about NetMonitor, i'll inform you guys!!
THANKS a lot!!:D

Hello!
Are you shure that 7650 doesŽnt have the Field Test & NetMonitor menu built in? I think that most Nokia mobile phones have it hidden...in my ex Communicators I needed to modify the MBUS cable in order to unlock the NetMonitor. Normal phones bought from normal shops.
IŽll try to attach a picture here...hope IŽll get it right.

hi,
should run 8310. Look for specific help on nobbi's homepage (see above).
The connection to 7650 (serial emulation via bluetooth) worked at a snip. Sorry, have no 8310 to figure out Your problem.

Of course it works. If You have a closer look at the description on nobbi's homepage, You may recognize that communication between pc and phone is managed simply by using standard nokia AT-commands. Therefore it should work with nearly every phone, wether it's connected via real cable or emulated via BT, it even works with IRDA.
It will also work with phones manufactured by others as long as the type of phone understands the propriet AT-commands (see the list of supported phones on the nobbi's HP).
If You don't believe, just connect a terminal programm to Your phone and send AT-commands to it. The response from the phone has -of course- to be interpreted, but at least You can see Your phone answering. More info You may achieve directly from nokia developer forum.

Hello, I'm from Spain and I'm thinking on buying LP2002 Resource DCT-4 Flasher from www.gsmunlock.com. Anyone can tell me if it flashes good the Nokia 7650, please, I'm very confused becouse I have heard some people that it flashes the 7650 bad and the phone dies.
Thanks for all.

heres the link for the downloadnetmonitor (http://www.ed2k.com.ph/~forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=43)
Installation guide for Field Test
1. extract netmonitor.zip now you will have 3 new zipped folders namely ftd, insatll and libs
2. extract all three folders
3. on your mobile phone you must have efile or handyfile
4. make a new folder under c:\ system > apps > Ftd
5. send the files through infrared or bluetooth, below is the breakdown of files and where it should be placed, all sent files will fall underc:\system > mail look for it there and copy paste it to its designated folders
a. c:\ system > apps > Ftd
1. Ftd.aif
2. ftd.app
3. ftd.rsc
4. ftd_caption.rsc
b. c:\ system > insatll
1. Ftd.sis
2. Ftserver.sis
c. c:\ system > libs "sometimes theres no libs folder you have to make one"

does netmonitor works with 7650?
there is no support...
niacman

i therefore conclude that the network monitor primarily works only on lower version because lower version might have some pre installed wares or shld i say software on it or whatever.... that enable the NetMonitor to run on it, Maybe because lower versions are needed for testing, its like lower version are beta version only ( no offense meant to those who have lower version)
:p ..... so thats it... im having a hard time speakin' in english by now.... blah blah blah....... Tagalog na lang kaya... bawal e.....
it won't work on Chinese version 4.34 ,too
:o
can anybody help me.....to run NetMonitor......:( :( :(
and i will,
keep looking keep asking and keep trying........:D

I installed the FTD as Hexed here advised and didŽnt work, got system error!
I noticed that one file was left out, named "Ftserver.exe"
When I copied this to C:\system\libs I got it working.
So try this guys?
But I wonder, does this work just like in oter Nokia phones?
If so, going straight in from the program menu option will alter your phoneŽs settings. (not a good thing) ItŽs just better to browse through the pages with the joystick...

ur right mercedes... we hav to transer the ftserver.exe file as u mentioned.
there's another thing, when i browse to
menu>tool>manager>
i can't view the details of both the ftd.sis and ftserver.sis
when i press option>view details, there's a warning sign indicated that the files were corrupted.
can i delete these files?
anyone? hexed/mercedes?
Mercedes
20-01-2003, 12:28 PM
:)
Hmmmm...
You said that the files seem to be corrupted? But does the Ftd program work for you anyway?
If it works, I think that in this case you should maybe leave the files there. I checked from my 7650 and both files are ok, no warnings there.
Maybe you need to re-install those two files?
:) :) :)
alfonso
22-01-2003, 09:36 AM
i've put those files in c: > nokia > installs (wrong place)
it should be in c: > system > install
now it works fine.
thanx mercedes.
