Is there any diferance between 3310 & 3315 H.W.?

My wife just got a 3315 and I have a 3310 they look exactly the same with out the covers. And I was wondering if it was possible to make a back up of her 3315 and flash it to my 3310 and change the IMEI?

no differences.
but make 2 or 3 back-up first on your 3310 before flashing with 3315 flash. just for safety

To convert 3310 -> 3315 you don't need to flash the phone with the 3315 flash. If your 3310 is version 5.47 ot high you just have to do this: see in Schwantz page (http://www.gsmschwantz.com/3310.htm) ;)

it is true. but i belive that not all features from a 3315 will appear after only cloning eeprom.

You don't actually need to clone the eeprom, just set one of the bits to 1 (instead of 0) you can use Jordik to do it, takes about 6 seconds. Reset the phone and its a 3315

I tried flashing the 3315 back up all it did was update my firm wear to 5.59 and no 3315 extra fetures, probably because I use rolis and it does not have a setting for 3315 only 3310 and 3330. Is this othere programe easy to use? I'm probably the biggest n00b (newbie) out there, I even for got to back up my friends phone befor flashing it yesterday I hope he doesn't want to change back:( any way thanx for your input.

Hmmm, did you do an SFR after you flashed the phone ??

If so this will mostly always kill the 'upgrade' try this bit of software to re-convert back to the 3315.

Yeah there is a difference, apart from the cover, the batteries are difference sizes, the 3315 is smaller and when ya put it into a 3310 case it rattles a bit

Its profile bit 30 which needs to be changed from 0 to 1
then the 3315 settings are apparent
but after doing FULL SFS you will lose them
By far the easiest way is via mbus/fbus cable using the program attached above

If your firmware is above 5.47 then no need to flash otherwise just flash 5.79 use the prog above to change profile bit 30 and your done :)

Dont bother with all the "cloned" eeprom crap just do it this way because if you start swapping eeproms from different 3310's you'll need to do an SFS reset in which case you'll lose the new settinsg anyway!! :D

the battery is smaller because it's a lithium ion and most 3310's came with a nical metal hidrat battery which is slightly lager and heavyer. Thanx to all, I have G3's v05.57 with fading LED's at the moment, and the above progame won't work it says "your version of mscomm is out of date" how do I fix this?

@devolution: this seems to be an visual basic issue (.ocx is some kind of runtime library that it needs)

try to find an visual basic runtime installer on the internet..that might help, I Don't have the problem, but I have the Vis Bas Development prog installed, thus all the runtime libs included:)

also.. nokia delivers also lithium ion batteries for a 3310/3330, so it should fit there too..so don't see why it should be smaller
(or you mean less high, so that it still fits?)

I down loaded VB6runtime the file still gives me the same error message I did a serch on visual basic and it looks like I have to buy it :( About the battery discusion, yes I ment it's thiner no smaller my bad I have a lithium ion batter for my 3310 that has a clear cassing with a thin pcb that 12 little LED's are on and flash when sending or receiveing a signal:)

Ok it seems relativley easy to convert 3310's to 3315 with Knok-Phoenix build 1 the only problem is finding this programe I have knok 22 but it doesn't have the convertion button, I've tryed the seach on here msn and yahoo but still can't find this knok build 1.. So could some one please post a zip or link to where I can get it??? Thanx

After much hesation I desidet to try pclocals, it's been along time since I've use dos and well pclocals is easy to use and I changed the product profile bit 30 from 0 to 1 like sume one said any vala I now have a 3315 :D with fading LED's THANK YOU all For your help and sugestions it was so easy I didn't know it even worked till I unpluged the phone and turnd it on and I scroled though the menu to find I had picture editor...
