Unlocking??

I was wondering :confused: , i'm new in to all this unlocking so my question is,
what happens when a phone is "unlocked" cause i've never seen an unlocked phone:( does it have extra functions or so...

when the handset is unlocked it means that you can use any sim card in the phone.
