nokia 3390 unlock problem

i have a 3390 and i just got the mastercode from the service provider (tmobile) but im having problems unlocking the phone. any experts could tell me the procedure ??

press the # key 1 time to show a # symbol
then, press the * key 3 times to create a P
then, press the * key 4 times to create a W
then, press the * key 2 times to create a + symbol
then, enter the mastercode code, <given by tmobile>
then, press the * key 2 times to create a + symbol
then, press the 1 key 1 time to show a 1
then, press the # key 1 time to show a #

if you get a code error, write them back.

I tried the steps from dataswipe, but my 3390 does not accept the last # character. What's the problem ? Is there any other way to unlock 3390 (not using cable) ? Thanks for any input.
