cable problem... or not???

hi,

I've build and tried several circuits to read a sim...
smartmouse, dejan, phoenix... with max232, transistors only, mixed... with power suply, without...
but always the same problem... :(

when I try cardinal, sim_scan and others to read the sim card:

when reading something simple (like atr, imsi, short phone list, etc) it reads ok.

if the read takes too long (like "reading" ki, or a big phone list it gives me several errors... card not present, buffers empty... and stops everything... :(

I've tested 5 cards till now and they all do the same...
but then I've changed the position of the cable and components board... and now it reads more or less time... depends on the position of everything (inclunding the desk light...on or off) :confused:

the cable have about 60cm, is shilded connecting to the ground of the computer...

waht I´m doing wrong???
Can someone tell me how stupid I'am and teach me how to do a cable?? :-o

What crystal uses in your reader?

If the cardinal stops when search the Ki, if possible have a errors to send authentications...
All this problems are (normaly) of the value of the crystal resonator...
