Do you think I could flash with my 66mHz 486? It's got win 95 and 16mb or ram. I'd try it, but I don't want to mess up my phone because I don't have any other comps I could use to fix it.
Thanks!

Before you flash your phone you should try to read and make a full backup. If read is successfull you can use your computer. :)
Good luck

I'm having some trouble getting anything to run on Win95. Knok Phoenix 1a gives me a "External Exception error C000001D" and Rollis 4.78 wont even start. Any suggestions? Would win98 run on that comp??!?
Yep, I had the same prob with Win95, maybe some versions don't run it. Win98 should. WinME Sure!

try upgrade to win95osr2, or win98.
really, you need win98 to use all flasher programs properly. you can get drivers such as userport which allow lpt1 port control in nt based o/s such as win2000 and XP nowdays, but win98 is the environment these programs/solutions was made in :)
as for machine spec, less is more ;) you think Dejan Kaljevic used P4 xxxxMHz when building flasher?
pentium 1 at 100MHz was working fine, i think at 66MHz you should still be ok.
infact with a faster PC you may get problems and with AMD processors, you may also get problems.

Well, that's not going to be happening for a while. I deleted Win95 off my 486 thinking I could install Win98 later that day. Well, something interrupted me, and about a week later I tried to boot my WinXP machine and I got this error message "Missing operating system". That didn't sound good. I'm currently typing on my dad's laptop until I get my XP back from this dude who might be able to fix it... I just hope the HDD isn't ded.
Wish me luck (and that it's just the master boot record and nothing more),

Well, I just got my comp back today. I had to pay $50 Australian just because I don't keep a bootdisk. Dammit. Anyways, now I have win98se on my comp, so I should be able to flash like there's no tomorrow!! I just hope my dejan dongle is ok....
Peace!
