once u enter the code and it says its allowed it has activated it and will place the sim in a "low power" mode and save a bit of battery life

okey.. coz i thought putting *#746025625# only checks if the sim card clock can be stopped, not to actually stop it.

the sim clock stoping is a power saving mode that phone uses when there is no network available to connect to (in the net monitor you can see the channel type in test 1 as NSPS - No Service Power Saving).

this code just show you if this power saving mode is supported by the phone.

not exactly....

the SIM (Subscriber Identification Module)
has a data line, clock line, reset and +5V or +3.3V and GND lines

newer SIM cards support DISABLING the clock line what would
result in power saving (known on normal PCs as sleep mode)

older cards dont allow the clock line to be held low longer than
some msecs, else they would reset/be in a unknown state

the phone would just "wake up" if there is any need to
communicate with the SIM (A3 or A8 challenge, pbk lookup etc)

the *#sim0clock# just shows the user if he has a newer SIM
module that allows this power saving mode
