hi i have a nokia 5110 version 5.27 and i tried to unlock it by re flashing it with nokia flasher but now when i turn the phone on i get the following message
"SW<->ASIC
MISMATCH

USE SW FOR DSP ROM 4"

could any one please tell me what this means and how i can fix it.
please please help i am desperate.
if there are any files i need to download please could you put a link to the download site for me if you know it.

there are 2 types of flashes for 5110, for rom3 and rom4. what you did was you flashed a rom3 flash file to a rom4 5110. just flash a rom4 5110 flash file and the fone will be okay. 8-)

where do i get a rom 4 flash file from and what software should i use to flash the rom 4 file to the phone please

OK you need ROM4 latest flash: that is 5.30
I don't know in wich country do you live but the attached file is
PPM (A). Just flash it like you did with that ROM3 file.

But to unlock your mobile I would just prefer a mbus cable and rollis... much safer to.

i live in england so is the new flash file i have now the correct one. i have flashed it to my phone and now i turn it on and it all comes on ok and says insert sim card, but whatever sim card i put in it says sim not accepted can you please tell me why this is and how to fix it. also when it is fully unlocked can it accept any sim card.

ahh the good old 5110. always the same...:o . OK download KNOK
fire it up... select NSE-1 (5110)- go to phpne settings - click on "all above" wait a 20sec... then go to menu "Modify Locks" - then click on "reset sp lock".... voila! now you have a unlocked, upgraded phone !

hi i have done what you told me thanks it worked and the phone is up and running. except the mobile now hardly ever has a signal it looses the signal all the time i was wondering if you could tell me what is wrong now and maybe how to fix this problem that i am having.

maybe you didd'nt set faid try setting it with knok- choose nse 1(5110) then- phone settings-quick set faid... also it's a hw problem, or antenna problem -> look if your antenna is loose:)
