mbus cable

i recently purchased a data cable for the nokia 8390 and tried desperately unlocking the phone, but everytime i tried, the softwares would say something to the effect of "connection fail", yet i know it has a connection because the phone would go into test mode. i'm wondering if the data cable can be used to unlock the phone....


can someone please explain to me the difference in the cables...i would greatly appreiciate it.
