It can be done, just remove the 2 "lips" on the top of the front cover and it's a perfect fit. Included a pic of my phone with a 8310 cover

it's very much possible, i had it on my phone since october of last year. just do some trimmings on on the 8310 housing. do it slowly and little bits at a time.

yes it is possible, i have one on my 8310

you need to remove the 2 tags on the cover and make the plastic on the inside of the cover where the tags were, as flat as possible to get the best possible fit.

ill post 2 pics, one with the original 8310 cover on, ( its next to a 3310 with blue led's ) and then one with the 6510 case on.

You are showing that 6510 's cover can be applied to 8310... WE WANA ASK IF, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT "8310's COVER CAN FIT ON 6510???" I ask again

" Is it possible that the Xpress-on cover of Nokia 8310 can fit on Nokia 6510??? WHAT MODIFICATION SHOULD BE MADE??? PLEASE PROVIDE US WITH MODIFIED 8310 CASING... THE PICTURE SHOULD SHOW THE MODIFICATION"

We dont want our 6510's power button to be broken!!!

Yeah I saw a 6510 traped in a 8310's casing. But how?
I mean what modification had been made to 8310's casing?

Also tell me about the power button... Does 8310's buttons match 6510's?

the 8310 and 6510 are basically identical phones, all but the LCD it is slightly shaped differently at the top, which is the reason why the covers are not interchangeable as standard, this is why they need to be modified.

on the 6510 case, at the top where the power button is, there is 2 clips, take a sharp knife or scalpel, an slice these tags off, then underneath where you have removed the clips, remove the plastic from the inside, []-----[] sort of ascii drawing to show what i mean, [] represents the clips, an ----- means the plastic on the inside, once that is totally removed and flat the cover will fit perfectly.

on the 8310 case remove the 2 clips at the top like the 6510 case, where the clips are there is a fine line of plastic between the 2 clips, remove this aswell, then the cover should fit perfectly.

the power buttons are exactly the same on both phones, i have modded both cases for both phones, so i know it works.

hope this helps you out,

if i can get some decent pics ill show what i mean..

I have a genuine NOKIA 6510 case on my phone, i have not seen any aftermarket replicas of the 6510 i seen loads for the 8310, ( same keypad design ) none like the 6510 though.

an yes i / others are on about original fascias,

if i can take a better pic, ill upload it, showin the NOKIA badge on the case, an i dont know how to edit a photo to save my life, so no go there

Hmmm… ok Furgo, I will try with a non-genuine Nokia 8310 casing (I can’t risk USD35 on an Original Nokia Casing). Thanks for you help. Really appreciated.:D

8310 's Cover directly fits to 6510. You just need to modify the two clips (cut them or what ever ).

My question is now that i have 8310's cover on 6510, does 6510 has same size (width) as that of 8310? Nokia website shows that 6510 is thicker. Is that due to its cover.

Please, users who use non-genuine Nokia casing, will break Nokia6510 power button. 6510 has really weak buttons esp. Power.

When you modify a casing be technical dont just do it, understand it! Be sensible while doing sensible things!

I personally think that the 6510 is slightly thicker than the 8310, but the 6510 is so much nicer in my opinion, case wise anyway.

once u get used to havin the 6510 case on your 8310 an you then go back to using an 8310 case it looks a lot bigger an bulkier, thats just my opinion.

i have included a photo of the modified top, it aint the best quality because i aint the best person at photos, plus my cam is sh*t, hopefully i will have a new one in a week or so, so will get a decent pic once i get a new 6510 cover..

I have now changed my 8310 led's to TG Hyper Blues, blue led's an fitted with the 6510 case u would believe it was one.

Please Note - the led's look much more intense in the photo than they do in real life, they have a neon effect in the photo but a beutifal blue in real life

Bro, is that an original titanium casing of the 8910???

Would you happen to know where I could get a reasonably priced original Nokia casing (all partS) for my Nokia 8890 I would like to have it restored.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hello peoples!
There is a very easy mod possible to get a 8310-cover on the 6510. Take off the covers and see the upper part of the phone. On the end of it (above the display) is an "outstanding" part, looks a bit like a small black plastic stripe which functions as a "lock". When you put the cover on, it has inside a similar stripe which "clicks" in space and holds the cover firm in position. Now on the 6510 this thing (on the phone!) is a bit longer than on 8310's. So... use a small file to shorten the part on the phone (!) for about 1.5 millimeters on each side. If you work carefull, this mod can't be seen and won't even break the warranty. After it's done, every (!) 6510 and 8310 cover clicks on it like they should - Express-On! No need to do ANY modifications on the covers themselves as doing so mostly prevents them from fitting exactly and causes an ugly gap between the cover and the phone's body.
Feel free to visit my website on http://go.to/aod-thanh or, direct to the phones, http://members.fortunecity.com/thanhbkk/bkkboys/mobile.html (english) to see pics of some of my phones inclusive a 6510 which is fitted with a 6500 cover (the rare one, with flip!), just the active function of the flip doesn't work because the 6510's software don't support it. On the website yet NOT uploaded are pics of my lately modified 5130 and my new 6610 (got it just over a week)... these updates will come, so keep the site bookmarked :)
