30 QUID :D :D :D
Laughable! The 8310 even if blocked in UK would be worth more just for spares!
NDI! Don't sell!
IMEI changing is just around the corner (*** Illeagal in some countires ****)
I'll give you £31.27 ;)
ROFL!!!
I'm not selling it.

i have 6510 imei blocked in turkey.so if you want to swap contact me.in our country 6510 and 8310 the same price.
Hmmm...
Will 8310 Cases fit 6510?
IMEI changing isn't just round the corner. The only way to change the IMEI is to change the UEM chip, which is near to impossable as it uses SMT to stick to the board.
The only possable way to change the IMEI would to to hack into the phones software and change where it looks for the IMEI. Then, to put an IMEI in some spare space on the flash eeprom, which to my knowledge is near to impossable because its all used up.
Also, its near impossable to hack the software because its encoded, and the phone uses hardware decoding to read the software.
Its complecated software, and i'd love to work on the IMEI thing, but i dont think i will happen.
Also, all other DCT4 phones like 6510, 6310 etc cannot have the IMEI changed becuse they use the same method of software encryption.

filka97 I have PM'ed you.... if u 2 dont end up swapping i would be VERY interested in a 8310 - 6510 swap... as its the 6510 that i wanted anyway.
My 8310 is in very good condition. with soft v 5.06. Its ONLY fault is that its IMEI blocked in the UK.
Please please please get back to me!
DAN.T.
i dont want a 6510, so you go ahead and swap :D

@NDI
Blimey You're an optimist. Lets all just give up now
Yes I agree with all that you said.
UEM chip, SMT, but ... It can be changed with the correct gear.
Space is never always used up! as memory is run to binary boundaries such as 1MB, 2MB etc. The memory and software are always built with spare space. Other wise Nokia will never be able to upgrade software as there is no more room.
All encoding can be broken, with time. If we don't have enough time (ie several million years). There will be an increase of people working on it. Makes sense?
(The only encoding which can't really be broken is transmission using single photons, before anybody gets cockey)
****IMEI changing maybe illegal in your country****

umm, ok I dont think your really taking any notice. Aberdeen scotland is about 300 miles from where I live in NORTHEAST ENGLAND which means the blocked 8310 WILL NOT WORK here. however I'd be happy to oblige if you still want to swap your working 6510 for my non-working 8310, the 65's are better anyway.

i know it still wont work in scotland im not that think and yes 6510 are better than 8310 but i meant id swap for you 3 barred aor some deal like that not just the 8310 as that would be stupid
Yea but be realistic! Dont you think nokia knows what goes on in the world of phone haxing? of course they do, which is why the DCT4 phones are so damn hard to hack.
Anyone working on a N8310 IMEI changing prog please let me know how its going. Also, i'll be glad to help if you need any.
Still looking for a swap btw
Dave - sounds silly, but when you're swapping phones over the net, place it on ebay, with a buy it now price of 500 quid, or somthing insanely stupid, then, the guy who wants to swap, can "buy it now" but send his phone as payment. That way, if he jacks you, and doesnt send his phone, you can get it back through ebay :)

aaah, ok I didnt quite understand there for a second but now I get it. and sorry but I think I'll wait for a response from a foreign country as I have had to spend more obtaining these phones than a 6510 would be worth, I use a 6510 myself but I dont think they yet have the street cred that an 8310 has, which is even less than the T68i if you see where I'm coming from.
Sorry, Dave.

@NDI,
yea I suppose thats a good plan, do e-bay insure your phone? is that how you get it (or its value) back?
Dave.
Dunno tbh
I think they just bug the dude till he pays up, but who knows, never been in that situation

I dont think they'd be able to do anything really, exept bug him till he dies of harassment or summit. I think that possibly someone should act as a neutral intermediary or something, where 2 buyers and 1 inter-guy all contact each other, both phones get sent to the inter-guy along with postage price for the continuing journey, then, inter-guy sends both phones to thier respective new owners. sounds ideal but as I understand there is room for fraud, especially at the inter-guy's inter-point, he could just pocket both phones and never contact either. sad eh?
I'd be willing to carry out a few transfers id anyone'd trust me, i'd be willing to give all details of my whereabouts etc to the transferees for them to pass on to the hit-man in case of any tom foolery. I'm not bothered about getting anything out of it, trust would do as I myself have 3 very desirable phones to transfer to foreign climbs.
Dave.
What a f^%$£*^g good idea!
Yea, i think i'll "use" you dave if i find someone to swap my 8310 with, as you seem like a nice guy :D

well I've been around long enough that I hope people know me, and I aint out to rip anyone off ( I do that at work by selling 35p in-car chargers for £5!) so feel free, feel... nokiafree!! (excuse the pun) and let me know how you get on.
hope we find our perfect swappers, seems a shame to have all these nice expensive phones lying around. frustrating, allthough we could sell them to deaf people to use on voda as you can still text using a barred fone (only on voda).
Dave.
lol yea, thing is, i kinda got suckered.
I had a totally legit 6210, and a friend asked me if i'd swap it for a slightly dodgy 8310. So i asked what was wrong with it, and he said "Dunno, just dont let me call, txts are ok tho"
I didnt know what network he was on (obv vodafone) so i agreed to swap it as i'm pretty good at fixing things.
Then when i put my o2 sim in it, it said sim card registration failed, then i went out and bought a virgin sim, and it worked. Try to make a call, and beep beep beep...
So, i dunno whether its stolen or he just didnt pay his bill.. I'm pretty sure its not stolen because hes a pretty ok guy

its probably not the thing to do but why dont you ask him? if the fone was out of contract (the obligatory 12 months were up) then you can ask him to complain to the network as its legally your phone and they have no right to bar it, in theory you have paid for it. however if it was nicked then your up sh1t creek unless you can find a swapper.
my 8310 was brought to the shop where I work (unlocking them) and he asked me to unlock it, so I did and informed him that it must be blocked as it wont make a call, I knew that he wouldnt want to pay for the unlock but I had still done the job so rightfully I should be paid, anyway I said I'll give you a 10er for spares and waive the unlock (and security code removal), he thought about this for about 5 mins (obviously smacked out of his head) and agreed saying he'd bring the charger in the next day, he floated out of the shop never to be seen again.
I found out 2 days later that the phone had been nicked from the town where i live.

Pfft..
I rang my mate up, and he said:
"WEll, what happend was, i was at work, and some c%£t decided to play a trick and hide my phone. So, ther i am, looking for my phone, and i'm late home, and i think its been stolen. So i phone up T-Mobile and report it stolen. Next day George comes up to me with my phone and says i found this in your drawer. which i knew was bulls$%t because i looked in my drawer, locker, everywhere. So we had a bit of a row, and then he said it was just a joke. So when i got home i rang up T-Mobile and ask for it to be un blocked, then she says some bollocks about it being reported stolen, and they cannot unblock it without me sending the phone in, sim card an all. So i though forget it, i'll sell it. So i sold it to you."
I think thats fair enough.
Still looking for a swapper if anyones interested :)

Your "mate" must love his phone.
Pay your mate to send it in to T-Mobile (packaging etc), or give you any info neccessary to get it unbocked. As T-mobile said they would unblock it, you could then sell it for more than you can now. :) or even use it yourself ?!?
Hmm.. I'll ask him, but i think i have a swapper :)
