hi guys, i bought a 3310 and would like to know if it's possible to convert it to a 3330, after all they are the same, except for 1 more game and same more memory phone book.
My main interest in ugprading is to have the possibility of full screen saver and eventually animated pics.
Any info wuold be much apreciatted.
Thanks, Jorge

yes, /n/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif didn't remembered it, it also has WAP, but that does'nt interest me, just the full screen saver and animated screen

I read somewhere, on another msg board of a person trying the same.
apparently the 3310 has a smaller size flash than the 3330.
dont quote me on this, but I think, the 3310 is 1M and the 3330 is 2M
anyway, thats what I read.,

of more pressing concern to me is if it is possible to modify the code so you can view the call timer while IN a call.
the 8210 allows use of all menu functions when on call, including call timer.

It seems rather useless to be able to view it afterwards..,.,its too late then.
Its more use when on a call to know how long you are talking for so you can make shorter calls, or in my case, keep them under the 15min free limit.

Jorge, if I can be helpfull to you,I changed the FLASH (the component) from a nokia 3330 to a 3310 and it didn't worked.(the phone is dead).Like Tzi said, the size of the FLASH is different.

ops...
i'm sorry for that Dragos, nevertheless, i still think it should be possible to use a full screen saver on the 3310 'cause when we power it up it uses the full screen with the Nokia logo (toutching hands).
As there are roms unlocked to flash, is'nt there any with some bytes changed so the screen saver uses full screen ?

A bigger screen means more bytes than for a smaller screen and I think that's related to 3330 flash capacity.

Just one more silly and stupid question...
then isn't it possible to change the nokia logo (hands) and make it the screen saver ?
it could be just a question of making some address bytes point to another address and the memory problem wouldn't arise, as we would use the memory of the nokia logo... am i right or i am wrong ???
