Hi,
Just wanted to let everyone know that i am back ready to answer questions about repairing nokias:)
it seems that the last thread went pretty well but its now time for a new one with new questions.
Try to include in your questions as much detail as possible as getting questions like "my 3310 doesnt work how do i fix it ?" is a bit hard to answer lol.
It now seems that there are some pretty knowledgable people in the hardware section so i encourage everyone to have a go at answering questions.

Hi!

I have a 7650 which was water damaged, I have cleaned the whole phone inc Keypad pcb ect,

The phone works ok , make calls texts, takes photo, ect.
but the only fault is that the buttons on the right hand side of the keypad dont work, 3, 6, 9, and number 8,
all the others work ok,

Ultrasionic clean
looping earth pins.

Please could some help me, as I am stuck!!

Hi,
In reguards to the water damaged 7650, you meantioned looping the earth pins. This wouldnt have worked because the outside connection on each key is not actually an earth.
The keys on the phone are connected in a matrix usually a 5x5 matrix to. i have noticed in my time that it is usually the inside or middle contact that is the one which will break from water damage.
I dont know if a level 3 7650 service manual is widely available but i believe that the keypad layout in terms to the key matrix will be the same.
To fix this first get a copy of an 8210 level 3 service manual and print out the page titled keyboard in th UI(user interface) section.
then get a multimeter and check the keypad with it to find where the breaks are in the board, you will most likly find that you may have to put about 2 wire jumpers in the keypad to get the keys to work. But just try and find out exactly where they are first.

Note that even though this is for a 7650 anyone else who has the problem should apply the same methods.

hi wfc.... my problem with nokia 3310 drop into water. after I cleaned with ultrasonic than I flash from vesion 5.03 to 5.13 full flash by rolis 477 and faid it .so result is the signal cant be hold after +-10 s its gone .than i change pa result same so the antenna switch (z502) , change filter z501 .than hagar step by step but not solving problem. could you give me any idea??:confused: and if possible let me know the important measuring point before we change component.......

also look very closely where the flex cable is soldered onto the main board(in the top slide). any corrosion inbetween pads (shorting them) can cause your fault, as can any bad soder joins or broken track on the flex cable.

Hello, First at all, sorry about my english, I am not very good writing. Well my problem is that I have a 3360 wish work quite good its problem was that I reseived the messenges but I can`t read them. I give my mobile to "tech" and now :sad: , I can do anything, I friend try to charge all the data (SOC, number,,,) the fone say "saved" but the all data is still there it not change. I would like to know what is the problem and if it have any solution. Very thanks :smile:
