Hi everybody,

Thaught now i have my transparent housing for my 3310 i would change the LED's to blue :)

So went searching and came across :

http://www.m-99.co.uk/PhoneAccessories/Blue_LED/blue_led.html

Now it CLEARLY states what mobiles these are suitable for...
It mentions 3310 so i sent off for 8 and got them in no time, but they dont fit, i know now that 3310's need 1206's, i emailed them and they quite rudely just replied with one line stating that these 0603's fitted "earlier" models of 3310 :o

My 3310 doesnt have the 3350 contacts on the pcb so should be classed as "relatively" old in my opinion just wondering if what they have said is complete bollox or not, or if anyone agrees that claiming those LED's fit other phones they don't is downright RUDE

Cheers for reading

Mike

0603 will be messy. You need to use ALOT of solder to put them in. They are talking b/s.

The 0805 or the 1206 are ment to be used. Send them back mate.

The "earlier" models of 3310 use the same leds as they use now. NEVER 0603's.

Here in our country, we don't give a damn about LED sizes, our tech guys will change all LEDs for less 2US$. The LEDs are quite a load on the batts though. And I find them too bright during total darkness, kinda strain my eyes. I guess Nokia LEDs has the right amount of brightness that I prefer mine to stay as they are, though I envy having Teal colored LEDs (6510) on my 3310. BTW after scoring an original keypad and cover, this 3315 conversion is definitely the best! Keypads were sold out like hotcakes! :D

Great to hear your oppinion i agree they can be a slight strain... :( ...... but they look *COOL* :D

Suppose I could try changing them for smaller ones but ive just bought some more from gsm-shop so i'll wait ;)

It genuinly is HARD to find a decent genuine cover for your nokia, i recently bought the clear chassis and cover for my 3310/3315 and its kind of tacky  and flimsy, oh well it looks nice :)

Sometimes i use 0603 LEDs to 3310s. This is how i do that.

1. Remove your Original 3310 Light carefully.(Don't throw them away . you need this after)
2. In Ori. 3310 LED you must cut the bulb(plastick) area by a fine blade.
3. solde your 0603 LED in to your modified Ori. LED.
4. Solder it to your 3310 again.

Thanks

nice idea kootp, although it sounds like alot of nasty work.

well, 0603 is damn small imho, never wanted to change leds on my old 3210 ... didn't feel like I could make it, well especially the desoldering sucks propably

I'm currently waiting for some 0805 sized leds, bright blue, should arrive anyday now in my mailbox.

the 0603's->well it kinda depends if they are for reverse mounting (is this the correct name?) if they are..should be possible without too much extra effort
if they ain't->kootp's procedure should work...if you can manage the tiny work:)
