C45 Firmware Upgrade, Please Help!

Hi,


The current Firmware version I have is 14

I have a data cable (it says c25 on it and is not an official siemens one, but it works fine with my c45 using phonebook and sms software such as visual c45 and visse)

I have downloaded many firmware versions for the c45 including version 33 and version 50

In WinSwup I set the correct com-port (com 1) and the speed to 115200

I get many different errors when trying to update the phone, some are like "Error waiting for ACK....", "Could not connect to phone using BootStrapLoader on Com 1"

I have tried the update both with and without skipping the two checks.

If anyone could please suggest anything, I would be very grateful

in winswup you have to ignore pre- and post tests. should work fine now

I did try with and without skipping, but it didn't work at that time.

I somehow managed to get it to work though.

I think it had to do with the amount of time I held the power button.

Try this:

You cannot upgrade C45V36 to V38 or V50, if you want to upgrade do this..
1. down version to V33, winswup can do this without problem.
2. when upgrade with V50 don't skip "Pre-Check" and you must turn on you C45 when start upgrade, program will manage it to turn of automatically.
3. after that it similar as you do when winswup your phone.

Cant upgrade my c45 to v50

it's v19

wont ping my mobile when on?

tried not using pre-check, wont work?

any suggestions please?

currently getting the message "no bootcore detected"

"No answer from Mobile, maybe not with new Update-Concept ?"

did you try to lower down transmission speed ? try 59k

always use 57600 baudrate

anyway did some searching and found out that fw 38 and fw 50 are supposedly fakes, and that fw36 is officially the last released firmware.

And guess what, upgraded to fw36 no problems whatsoever!:D

In your data cable you need to send some power to pin 4. You can conect from your charger device.
Dont forget to conect the ground.

HI all,

I just see a phone, which came back from siemens service, they put a v380312 firmware into it. So I think, the v38 is now official.

I did it myself too with a downloaded v380309 winswup (originally ther was v350312 in the phone), and with unisiemens I partially flashed a t9 copied from the orig. flash. Ewerything seems to be allright, the phone works as normal, but sometimes the screen breaks up, and then becomes normal again.
Why is that? did I messed up something?

Is there anybody, who has any experience with the v38 firmware?

I had the same problem with upgrading the firmware for my C45 but the problem was the datacable. I used another one and then the phone respons and I hadn't any trouble afterwards. (only it won't upgrade to FW50? can somebody explain?)

i think fw50 is a network specific version, like fw81 was for the sl45

I have to agree to Rudi1, that stuff worked, I did it the same way. Worked perfect. I never got to try out the versions between the one I originally had, v16 I think, and the newer v38. I did install v38, v36 and v33 on my phone (yes in that order) but I didnt test it out cause I was trying to get v50 working, but I figured out I had to downgrade to v33 after I downgraded from v38 to v36 after just installing them, so I could be able to get v50 running..

I was amazed about all the new features and improvements compared to my "old" c45, its tons of new stuff like i'd bought a new phone or something :P Pretty neat. I wasnt aware the firmware updates did that much I thought they were just for minor bug fixes etc, I mean, if they sell the C45 now with lets say v50 its like a completely different phone then the first C45's they sold back when I got mine.

The only thing I wish for now is that someone make a program that can erase the stupid inbuilt original games in the C45 and replace them with some new ones! :P
