result of flashing 5210 with 3610 flash file

need to change to higher lcd resolution 5210 84 x 48, 3610 96 x 65, everything work except resolution not fit with lcd 5210.

try to bodge together a screen from a 6510 into your 5210, the connectors are the same but the 6510 screen comes with the keypad board (as does the 8310) so you would need to take it apart. I think the 6510 screen is high enough res, higher than the 8310 anyway, try using a 6510 then go back to a 8310, its like changing the resolution on your PC monitor to 640x480 (chunky vision).

3610 has exactly the same menu with 3350. So as a result of converting 5210 to 3610 you lose the following features...

* IR function
* Thermometer
* 250 phone book memory (3610 has 150)
* 10 names of voice dial (3610 has 8 names)
* Caller grouping
* Calendar
* Internal Modem
* Fax+Data transmission

and you gain...

* 3D animated screen savers
* Picture editor
* Chinese Lunar Calendar (Works only in Chinese)
* 2 extra games (Dance 2 Music and Magic Draw)
* Ringing tone Composer

My opinion is not to convert 5210 into 3610 cause you lose many features... But you decide....

Ok the 5210 DOES have a picture editor and a ringtone composer

So all you gain as 2 new games, 3D animated screen savers and Chinese Lunar Calender

so I really don't think It worth it. I have played the games and to be honest they suck sure its nice to play a new games but after a few games I got bored.

The 3610 does have an IR post so you don't lose it.

So it's possible. What are the procedure. Is there any hardware to replace or it's just a flashing thing like 3310 to 3315?

On the other hand, it won't be nice to loose the calendar. My activities are very much dependent on the calendar.

can that be seen just replacing 5210's lcd to larger?

but still, buying 5210 + larger lcd can be cheaper than buying 3610..

so no one here is using rolis 4.78 to write the flash of 3610. I just want to give my experience so that you can write flash faster than using knox. in rolis use 3330. separate the mcu ang ppm using ppm manager. use start address 490000 to write the ppm. i write the ppm first then mcu. this is working 100% . this will help also in modifying your flash in shorter time than knox. hope this will help to all of you.im not telling that knox is no good. its up to you to choose. gud luck

i think if to 8855, we'll have the analog clock screen saver... seems nice... 3610 also have, but you'll lost lot's of functions...

5210 --> 3610 it's work but need high res. lcd and i need 5210 and 6510 or 8310 lcd data interface.

I find out that the 3610 has 96x65.
And the 6510 als has 96x65.
I now want to find out if you can change LCD's.
Coz i want to make a 3610 from my 5210.
Is there someone with succes accomplished ???

(The 8310 has a smaller display 84x48, so u have to do it with an 6510 ;) )
