I don't know if this has been discussed before, but when I try to flash this particular 3310 with a 3315 .fls, it won't work. It restarts after 30 sec, so I quick set faid with kNok95, but then instead of restarting, it just shuts off after 30 sec or so. I have network signal, and I can make calls, but it shuts off after 30 sec no matter what I do (30 sec of inactivity I think).

I flashed a backup to the phone and it's working fine now, I'm just wondeirng what I should do differently to convert this 3310 to 3315.

Thanks in advance!!

Flash your phone with 3310 full flash (MCU+PPM) v. 5.57. Then set faid, clear SP locks and restore full factory settings. Then use Knok phoenix 1a and choose the otion "convert 3310 to 3315" from the dropdown menu then quick set faid and all done... You now may have a 3315...

The update worked ok, it no longer shuts off :) but now some things are slightly offset. The operator logo that was on there already was messed up, as if it had been cut in half and then the pieces reversed.

The menu you get when you press the power button is similarly messed up. The first two letters are missing off most of the options. So it looks like:
Switch off
neral
lent
screet
oud
mpty)... Etc

Also I don;t think the ringer speaker works!?!?
What's going on?
(This is a fairly early model 3310, could that be the prob????!?)

Dunno! It may be the flash file.. have you tried to flash your phone with a different flash??

try virgin eeprom, or just read 20k-40k from known working and write that.
in 3310, the eeprom base address changed somewhere along the lines from 3e0000 to 3d0000, that can cause problems when upgrading, not problems like yours though.

After resetting to factory settings with noktool or similar and adding 3315 menus (by noktool: Add 3310 extra menus) it should be OK.

I tried two or three different files. It keeps giving me the same problems. Are you sure it's not becuase of the eeprom address change? Couldn't that offset all of the data in the eeprom?

I'll try out a virgin eeprom tonight and let you know how it goes.

what was original flash? i flashed 04.06 to 05.59 ok, but it has error maybe in CCONT (sim-card rejected, insert sim-card etc..)
but it was manufactured 1200, maybe you have so f*ing old..

Yup. That fixed it.. Well, actually, that should fix it... I just upgraded another 3310 and had the same problem. A full factory reset solved it 1000%

THanks for all your helP!
