Well, im new to this so i dont know what to try. ive got that data cable that comes with the phone and i downloaded a couple of programs. eeprom dint run cos it said i was missing file MSVBVM60.dll and nokia tool said 'failed to initilise local mode'. i dont know what to do, anyone want to point me in the right direction? or tell me how to make it work

Ehmmm, the cable that comes with the phone is no good, you need the 9110 m/bus cable to unlock then only eeprom tools will unlock the phone, if north london I can do for you or if you want post to me to do.:D

what do i do when i get the cable? use eeprom tool or something? as i mentioned, im not the best person at this type of thing

Take sim out of phone and connect the cable with the phone turned on, now open eeprom tools and press the padlock this should unlock the phone and then restart it, now phone is unlocked test by useing a diffrent sim card.
