How do I unlock a Nokia 6110? Which software do I need? Which Cable do I need? And what software can I use to backup my phonebook? Thanks.....:confused:

BTW if it matters, it is set up for Cingular.....
And will be going to Cellular One...
and they tell me they will activate it if it
is unlocked....

Nokia 6110 is a GSM 900 only phone ans can't only used in europe and asia 900 MHz networks.

If you have a Nokia 6190, it can be used with Cingular, but not with US Cellular, because it's GSM 1900 and hasn't any CDMA capabilities.


Please look at IMEI / ESN label under battery and post the details about model number and phone type. Phone type is in the format like NPE-3XX or similar.

You need nokiasoc and an MBUS cable.

Thanks! BTW which Nokia cable is MBUS? I have the one that came with a 7160 (dlr-3? I think) and another one that was given to me, I think a dau-09, not sure on the cable numbers, they are at home, and I am at work..... and I have one i bought off of eBay that is not a Nokia brand cable, but only says "51xx/61xx" on it. It was advertised to work with all 5100 and 6100 series phones...

Oh, and where can I find nokiasoc? I did a Google search for it and came with nothing I could read (all foreign)....

take care with nokiasoc. my experience with this program was very bad. use wintesla 2001 from sederick. those program work very well. it can unblock your phone. your cables work with this software. good luck

The dlr-3 cable is for use modem capabilities of your 7160 and 6120. Just get your self a dau-9p cable. MBUS.

And before you make anything stupid to your phone, backup your eeprom.
