Yes, the HTC "Tanager" phone is now the latest offering from Smart Telecoms Philippines. I dunno if this is gonna be an "exclusive" from Smart, just like the HTC's "Canary" design which is exclusively licensed for distribution by Orange in Europe. The Tanager and Canary design is basically like 3310 and 3315, hardware and softwares are the same, they differ only in appearance. A Smartphone running Microsoft Windows CE Mobile Edition. Which means compatibility is less of an issue when you use it with your Windows PC. This baby has a ton-load of feature!! Color, Tri-band, MMS, GPRS. No Bluetooth (as of yet) but there's an SDIO so you can pop-in one of those SD-format Bluetooth card. And dig this->RS232! I think Java support is native in the Windows soft. So in short, this is a PDA phone, and not something like 7650 which I thought was a PDA phone at first glance, but turned out it's just the Series 60 UI trying to look like it's PDA. No price as of yet. I think it should cost cheaper the current colored Nokia phones.

Here's Smart's site about the phone: Smart Amazing Phone (http://www.smart.com.ph/News/news_corp.asp?Id=285)
For more info on the technical details of the Canary and Tanager design, pls visit my page. It's under the Smartphones category.
O mga tolz? ano sa tingin niyo. OK din ba ang move ng Smart? BTW this is going to be Smart Brand talaga. Smart bought royalties from HTC to release this phone under the Smart Gold brand. So HTC is just their OEM.
Oh yeah!!! :-D I think I have to say goodbye to Nokia this time! :-D
