I succesfully loaded my 8210 with the ProjectZ flashfile. When I edit an SMS i can make it blink but when i send it the message does not blink on the receiver's phone. Which is a Nokia.

Willem

try setting your character support to UNICODE....

Also. Not all Nokia phones support the blinking character. Ex. 6210, 7110 etc

yah, that's right, but you can send them flash messages....

that is correct. Socalled "flash" messages, or class 0 messages as they are defined in the white sheets are a part of the GSM standard, so any GSM handset with SMS receiving capability should be able to receive a class 0 message.

Would this work on a 7650 or 3650?

If yes what would I need to do?

I do not know if it will work on these phones, but my guess is no because the software on them differs so much from other Nokia phones.

Anyhow the blinking "bug" is just the fact that any characters following a 01 (hex) character will blink. Search the forum for more info, theres heaps of other threads about the same topic.

No, the flashing SMS won't work on any DCT4 phone or the 7110, 6210, 6250 etc (DCT3 phones which were the pioneers of the DCT4 firmware).

Hope that helps.
