N3120 problem :(

Hi everyone.

Yesterday I flashed my brothers` 3210 with flash from file 3210PrjZ.fls (I can't remember link to the site, but I'm quite sure, that this was ProjectX site). Everything was OK, so the cellphone work, we can see bizzare menus, etc. But... There is a problem to flah the phone back to previous version or any other version of SW. I used kNok to flash it, and now, I even can't erase flash in 3120. :confused: kNok told me:

I gues there is a problem, becouse kNok find phone as "NSE-8 r1a" which is not supported (brilliant idea to name it that way :mad: ). I tried to edid models.cfg but when I change "HSE-8" to "NSE-8 r1a", kNok take "r1a" as the name of the phone (I'm not supprised on that, though). So I tried to fix 3210 with rollis (4.78 and 5.14), but rollis don't want to talk to phone, even with m2bus interface.
So... anyone know _any_ possible solution to my problem? Can anyone help me on that?

flash 3210 with rolis, for me it has been working even i changed phone infos completely in previous flashes.

You must connect Vcc pin. Its only on N3210.

I gues I don't. I've flashed n3210 many times using 4pin connector. All work fine. With n3210 you _can_ use 6pin connector, so you don't have to power on shortly (it's b-temp pin matter). I don't really think that Vcc is really important (maybe it avoid failure of flashing phone with almost empty battery), and it is not only on n3210. Look at the 8310 pinout. I think that 82xx and 88xx has Vcc pin, too. But, as I wrote, rollis does't want to talk with my n3210 even via m2bus, and there's no additional Vcc pin requirements. So I don't think there is a problem with 4pin 3210 connector.

my 3210 has been normal v6.00 (with changed tones) since got it back from brother (then it had projectz).

Did you use file from link I posted? 'Couse I can hardly belive your success (sorry). After flashing NokiaTool says that phones MCU SW is:

V 06.00 PrjZ.07/10/02.NSE-8 r1a.N'Free.org

FLSEdit found MCU SW-Type as "NSE-8 r1a" and version "V 06.00 PrjZ". Using this data kNok don't want go any further :/

What software did you use to flash your phone? How did you erase flash after uploading prjZ (it is most improtant to me)?

I flashed a 3210 with that file, didn't have much joy with it so flashed it back. Used rolis to do the flashing. don't know if that helps

there's "don't warn about new soft" or something, and for me it will work even if i modify all version & phone infos to eg lite1 v20.03 and then flash back original.

or do i have some kind of special 3210 that accept anything?

afaik, rolis & knok will first erase flash before writing.
so it doesn't matter what crap there is!

you should take closer look to your program, check every options, ok?

Yep, knew that. However I couldn't make rollis flash phone under XP. W98 + rollis is the solution to my problem, so it's solved now. Thanks for your help.

Nope. It is important to kNok. kNok does some checks before erasing flash.
