SO, it's a fido thing.. some are be hard to unlock remotely.

You'll need a F-Bus-Cable.

tthe network code for t-mobile is different for every state, before using the codes make sure that 31016 is the correct network code for you.

there was a list on http://www.mobile-doctor.co.uk/mmc/
in the column to the right, there are different codes for some states but not for georgia, so i thought it was the general t-mobile usa code.

was i right?

maybe it's right, i'm not sure.. all the unlocking thing with u.s. networks is a bit complicated. just try the first code, if it doesn't work - the network code is not correct.

about the codes, all you have to do is either:
-take out the sim, and then enter the codes, with all the # and * and pw.
or
-insert a simcard of another provider, and type the number (without # pw etc.) as the "Restriction code".

if it worked you'll get "Phone restriction off"
if not - "code error"

pretty simple i think :)

yes i agree that it is complicated, a lot. i have found 8 9 different network codes for t-mobile and i don't know which state any of them belongs to.

what should i do to find out what my network code is? any ideas someone?

someone posted in another forum about a website that generates the codes for free. this website is http://www.gsminside.com/unlocking

you type in your email, name and imei number, then select your phone model and network. they then send you an email which is completely pointless, as your codes are displayed in after agreeing to the terms and conditions.
you are only given the '+1' code and '+7' code, but that is all you need to unlock your phone.

i used this service and it works and definitely is completely free of charge.

give it a go.

Read post by @ gsm_community he explained that problem in his signature, Ur network uses another algorithm to lock these phones so codes won't work , only direct unlocking by cable is possible in that case

these codes will only work if you have the OEM-nokia software on your phone... they wont work with provider-specific software!!!

if you dont know what software is on your phone, forget the idea of remote unlocking... its to risky...

another point:
perhaps has nokia added new software to the new sold phones that use a new algo, because of the public available unlock-calculators... think about it...
