Changes/improvements made from version 04.26 to version 05.06:

-Java
-Phonebook functionality to Text Box added
-Pre-allocation of SMS ports from JAD file work for MIDlets installed in Games menu
-Disallow SEND key in empty application list in order to avoid KVM launching a MIDlet when no one exists in menu
-Unicode characters possible to use when sending an SMS from Java
-Java support for JSR120 WMA SMS API
-HTTP header line cut off at 32 chars. Max line length extended to 256 chars.
-Support for MIDlet-Data-Size. A check against available memory is performed during download of MIDlet.
-When a MIDlet is downloaded pre-allocation of port numbers by use of Nokia-SMS-Handler attribute in JAD file is checked. If an already installed MIDlet has pre-allocated the port the user is informed about “Conflicting Applications” and the MIDlet is not downloaded.
-New soft note is shown when receiving JAVA SMS messages. Text has the following format: <N> message(s) <MIDletName> <Sender>. <N> is the number of messages received. <Sender> is extracted from the phonebook if exactly one name is registered for the sender phone number. If messages are from different senders no <Sender> is shown.
-Language, Display text, Icons
-Language list used in Cell Broadcast modified to contain all supported languages
-Some of the Russian fonts were shown as a square. Now right Russian native characters are shown
-Header texts changes in German, Farsi Arabic and Afrikaans
-New language pack S for Gulf/Arabic/Farsi/Urdu.
-When erasing saved Stopwatch times one by one, the header text is changed from “View times” to “Erase times”
-Messaging
-SMS using Sending profile: After failed sending of SMS profile as an alphanumeric, the input buffer is emptied before starting used of a phone number input
-Searching phone numbers when sending a message as an email and using option “Send many” is improved
-If a topic for CB is set on and this gives a running text on screen in idle mode and you afterwards turned off CB then the current rest of text is not displayed
-If a message is sent by using the number from phonebook (or from Dialed numbers/ Received Calls/ Missed Calls) the same message can be sent again to a new number.
-One new character added into the special character screen (by pressing star-key while creating a SMS). The new character is an arrow and used to force the cursor to next line when writing a SMS.
-The Unicode paragraph separator (0x2029) was shown as a square when reading a received message. Now this character is treated as a carriage returns (a new line character).
-Call and Network management
-An emergency number is not accepted as a voice mailbox number
-After typing in some digits in idle mode left soft key is changed to Options. Options submenu includes Save, Convert and Call options.
-PIN 2 code is requested only once when FDN list is edited or deleted
-When selecting Manual network search when moving (in a car or a train) and then selecting an operator which is out of reach the phone stops requesting after 90 seconds and prompts the user for a new selection.
-When entering a bookmark in Services menu the query starts up in lowercase mode instead of upper case
-Improvements in the stopwatch timer: Restore Factory settings function resets also stopwatch if activated before restoring
-Countdown timer alert time-out optimised
-When a reminder expires and the phone is not in idle mode the alarm tone is always possible to stop by pressing any key.
-The text buffer for Confirmation query to confirm SIM service actions is extended from 66 to 88 bytes
-Backlight is switched off after time-out when receiving SMS
-Improvements in memory allocation
-Operator name list updated

It is too pity that the character counter problem, when sending SMS with a unicode language set (like Greek), still occurs. Back to 4.09 then...

:mad: right .nokia fixes a lot with this version but...a simple sms in Greek is sent only unicode.only 70 letters.sometimes nokia makes me mad :mad: :(
