Is this software available to download anywhere or does someone have it and feel like sharing? ;-)

well, someone will need to break the dongle open, to reproduce the schematic..and well..the hex will have to be read in some way (will be bitch if its protected I think)
after that, we will all be able to build our own dongle..and have fun;)

why does the software need a dongle?

This unit consists of a CD (with the software) and a 'dongle which plugs into the back of your PC (this contains the other half of the software). The two must be used together.

is it possible to crack/patch the software so that it doesn't need the dongle?

it must be possible...since other software (3dstudio max?) that require dongles have been cracked.

the software is posted sveeral times on this forum but you need the dongle to use it.
one version will open the programme but you need the dongle to genrate the codes.

The dongle either performs some kind of calculations and passes the results to the program OR is just there for security reasons to ensure that the program is not used by people who should't.
In the first case, the dongle can be software emulated (calculations will be performed by the CPU), in the second case it's easy to modify the software and remove the routine that checks the presence of the dongle. :D

Hey Litl,

a "dongle" is a little box that is connected to the usb or parallel port. Some software checks if it's dongle is connected or else it won't start. Functions as a hardware copy protection.
