Hi,

I made test photos yet with all three cameras by the actuall software versions each.

The weather was not nice, not rain, not sun and very big clouds. Means: A grey day.

But all shoots are made at the time time and at the same place = same conditions for all Cam softwares. Oh, phone was 7650 and the settings was always to the best.

At the left corner you see the names: NO = Nokia build in cam, PH= Photographer, FX= Camera FX.

Lets take a look:

First pic from a Church (http://people.freenet.de/Sanitaer/Church1.jpg)

2nd pic shows a zoom shot (not Nokia Cam) (http://people.freenet.de/Sanitaer/Zoom.jpg)

nice man. The pic in CameraFX is definetly the worse. the huish purple lines in the sky are horibble. The battle between Photographer and the Nokia built-in cams are closer. The tower in the Nokia cam is slightly curved, giving it that "cam lens" look. Same with CameraFX. In photographer the tower to the right is noticable straighter. The quality of the pictures in my eyes are pretty mmuch the same between the nokia cam and photographer: however the picture in the nokia cam looks slightly sharper (you can notice it more if you look at the black parked car on the left corner or the pics.

...the pics of the garage are pretty interesting.

the resolution is a bit closer (I guess CamFX lucked out in this pic cause theres no sky  ) on all the pics. However, the Nokia Cam and CameraFX's ability to warp the picture into a circular "camera-lens" look comes out clearer in these comparisons. You can CLEARLY see that the photographer picture is straighter than camerafx and nokia's cam. If you look at the outline of the black pavement in contrast to the garage door, you can see that CameraFX and Nokias cams pics are curved.

round 3 hopefully with some random people? :P

Hi

I just bought a second hand 7650 that came with the cam installed.
My so called friend managed to delete it by accident.

As the phone was bought without the CD or cable is there a way to get my videorecorder back?
Any help or suggestions would be a great help.

!. Zoom in mobiles is nonsense! (The same is valid for other image processing - stupid - you loose info)

Just think:

Speed and space constraints of a mobile software will never give you quality of PC algorithms. So, you better "zoom" images on your PC.
All efects done on PC are better too.

Plus extra software consumes your precious x650 space!

Perhaps the only thing to consider is: Does anyone wrote JPEG2000 coder for 60 series?

Hi,

sorry, I must contradict massive to you.

The zoom in photographer software 2.0 is so good, it is incredible.
The quality is much better as at my digitalcamera (photo) (@ soft zoom mod - not optical). Only the zoom in "CameraFX" is not good. But Photographer? One reason, to buy this prog.
Here are for all new comparision pics:

1) Photographer, normal (=100%, no zoom)
http://people.freenet.de/Sanitaer/ph_100.jpg

2) Photographer, 400% zoom
http://people.freenet.de/Sanitaer/ph_400.jpg

3) Photographer, 1200% zoom
http://people.freenet.de/Sanitaer/ph_1200.jpg

4) Camera FX, 1200% zoom, too

OK :-)

But still better image processing algorithms are to be found on "normal" computer and photografer still uses space.

If they implement jpg2000 and get smaler images with same quality, all buy it immediately.

I have made some picture using the photographer...cant see any difference in the quality of the picture... i guess thats the only capability of the Nokia 7650 camera... its dull and color is very bluish i also made a comparison with my t68i with communicam MCA-20 and the picture quality is different as seen on color is better in the t68i and picture quality is clearer and color is crisp....

Yes, this is a known issue with the current version. CameraFX only captures
images in 12-bit colour as opposed to 24-bit colour with the built in
Camera application. This is to enable fast special-fx and colour change
modes. We plan to support 24-bit captures in the next version of CameraFX,
which will be a free upgrade.

after checking the pics. i believe PHOTOGRAPHER has the best quality picture, next is nokia cam, then last is the cam fx. you can see it by looking clearly at the main gate, notice that the vertical line for PHOTOGRAPHER is much clear than nokia cam, while the cam fx is kinda blurred.
