Hi people,
look i've been having some problems with this Belkin Bluetooth adapter that i bought. I mean i am able to install all the software and drivers for the Bluetooth thingy and "My bluetooth Places" also shows up on the desktop but the problem is that when i do i search for devices (from both my computer and phone) neither of them can detect each other. My bluetooth on my 7650 is working fine as i am able to pair with other 7650 etc... Can anyone please tell me what to do... I really wanna install applets and stuff on my cell but this f*^*&^! bluetooth problem keeps poping up!.... Another thing...
If i wanna transfer files from my pc to me 7650 do i have to install PC Suit of Nokia...?
Help ASAP...
Cheers..

I have Xp Corp SP1 with the new version of PC Suite and my pc connects to the phone via COM5 (always trough this port although BT creates 14 virtual COM ports). The mRouter program that runs all the time needs to find the Phone in order to use PC suite or PC File manager and ever time i go 10 meters away from the computer it looses the link and I have to do this:
- click on the properties of mRouter
(this opens the panel of ports mRouter uses to find 7650)
- uncheck COM4
- check COM4
Then I get a query on the phone stating that N3O_2501 wants to establish a connection and I choose yes on the phone.
Remember - it's port 4, not 5 that I uncheck/check :}
After that I usually get a message on the PC that something went wrong and that it can't establish a connection, I click OK and it connects to port 5.
BTW, I'm using the Bluetooth adapter by Level One.
(i also have a story with a msi adapter my friend bought, but that should probably go in the jokes section of the forum, cause the problems we had with that adapter made me wish I lived close to the person who created that piece of crap so I could personally go to his home and maim him using only the MSI BT adapter :)

@M23:
Let me guess, mate, you have a PC2PC USB BT adapter, right? As I've mentioned it be4, this INGENIOUS PIECE OF HARDWARE can't connect to the phone properly since it thinks that it binded with another computer, not a cellular phone. The whole PC Suite software (which is actually quite good) won't work with it since the drivers for the two literally fight each other which will use the port and the result is you can't achieve squat.
The only thing you can do is that you send files trough the MSI BT drivers (via the bluetooth neightborhood). But you can't receive anything.
Well, neither can I, but I can TAKE the files (pictures and videos) FROM the phone's C drive. Or via PCSuite.
There is a way to go around it though, but it kinda takes a lot of time. The public folder on the binded 'pc' (i'm referring to nokia 7650) is the inbox folder. So what you have to do to get the pics from the phone is to put it in your inbox:
One way to do that is to ZIP them, send them to your friend's phone and then he sends it back to you so you get it in the inbox.
Then just open the BT neighborhood, go to nokia 7650 and to the public folder. You have the file there.
Hope this helps...

Hi thanxs for all your replies.. But my problem lies in the fact that neither my cell nor my pc can detect each other. The belkin USB adapter that i'm using is not just a PC to PC bluetooth adapter but it is for cellphones aswell coz it says so on in the manual and sales package. Bluetooth is not really my field so i'm kinda slow and stupid when it comes to networking via bluetooth. So i'd really appreciate it if someone, anyone who has the same adapter as me could give me a step by step guide on how to detect the 2 damn devices. I have installed all the drivers correctly..
Thanxs in advance...
Please help out if you can...

It is not enough to search each other. You will need to pair them. So long the devices are not paired. They WILL not speak together (Security Reasons). I use the Billionton USB dongle and I have had NO problems using either the PC suite to download photos or uploading apps via the phones public folder.
A little tip is to check on the cell phone that the paired computer always has access. So you won't get that question everytime.
Pairing is in the USB PC devices security options.
