question: what it is? A software prog? Is not the IR-remote at our phone to weak? Must it not be a consumer IR-transmitter?

There are much postings at much forums worldwide and the results are only the same: the power of the 7650 transmitter are only good for 30 cm (1 foot). Not more, and this is not really usefull as remote control.

Yes, for "normal" BT-transmitting, but I think, not as TV remote control, cause thats an another technic (consumer IR). I say again: 0,33 meter.

Its a great app. I tested out the distance on a Full Battery pointed at a Goodmans widescreen TV (using the phillips setting) and in a straight line I got 17 Feet (approx 5 Metres) I even tried it through a window and still got around 17 feet. But as the battery on the phone got lower the Remote only worked at about 3 Metres.

I have reached more than 5,5 meter with the IR interface.

Tested Hardware:
1. Philips TV, 16:9, 80 cm, new, ... ! 7,50 Meter !
2. Sony TV, 16:9, 72 cm, new, ... ! 6,50 Meter !
3. LG TV, 16:9, 72 cm, new, ... 5,00 Meter
4. Philips VCR, old one, ... 2,00 Meter
5. Sanyo TV, old one, 45 cm, 3,50 Meter

Every type of hardware tested with all reachable
functions from irRemote 0.22. Direct line to IR-receiver.
The normal IR connection from laptop to 7650 works woth more
than 1,80 meter. I think there are different types of IR-transmitter in use.
The laptop is a compaq :eek: modell.
At the weekend i will test more hardware...

So what's the difference between Total IR Remote and just IR Remote?

I use Total IR Remote on my 6600 and its total crap, hardly reaches the TV, and when it does you gotta hold the button down for ages for it to register
