Flashing problems... MCU CHK, FlashCheck?

need advice on what is MCU CHK or FlashCheck? what does it mean to kill mcu chk or flashcheck? what about fix all Checks?

i tried to edit my fls file but got contact service after flashing. what do i need to do? please give me your advice or suggestions, thanx! :D

What fone are you using?
5110?

mcu chk = mcu cheksum
flschk= fls checksum
fixallchk = fix all the checksum of the flash

to kill these checks, checking range is 0 bytes so everything entered to value should be valid.

it's for those who are lazy or experimenting new midifications without setting faid :)

but i noticed in 6110 that i have to kill all checks, it did cs without killing chks.
maybe just one ringtone was wrong or something in mcu caused it.

maybe you would like to know what checksum is?

checksum/crc is used to make sure software is not corrupted at runtime.
some range of bytes is run through an algorithm (sequence of events resulting in an outcome), and the resultant value is stored somewhere in the file.
now when the software is run, it will check the sum of those bytes again and compare it to the stored value.
if some bytes in the software have changed (become corrupt, or been edited ;)), the calculated and stored values will not match.

using a modified 5110 v5.30. tried adding a ringtone through ppmedit but got contact service after flashing. shoudl i fix all checks? what tool to use? g3n0lite?

if you have edited ringtoness, you need to calculate PPM checks and also faid afterwards.
the nfree program will fix your ppm checksums: http://gsmsearch.com/nfree/
for faid, just use your rolis tool or eeprom tools soft :)

how come i receive error messages?

A solution! No contact service
This is how I edit the 5110:

Open an ONMODIFIED flash (NOT AN KILLED MCU, FAID flash!!!!) with PPMManager

Import Ringtones ->PPMManager -> Correct all CRC's->Save
Import Lang chunks -> PPMManager ->Correct all CRC's->Save
Import SMS tones -> PPMEdit 1.0a->Save
Change Menu's order-> Genolite 1.7a->Fix all checks->Save
Bitmaps+Fonts->PPMEdit 1.0a->Save
Start-up_down tone ->SecTone->Do It!
Correct Checksums-> ChkFixer by Joox
Fade-in out->Save
Inverterted screen+slideshow->Genolite 1.7a->Fix all checks->Save

Flash-> Rollis flasher
FAID-SP->Noktools by rolis build 001-> Click FAID->SP
Fill in your original IMEI number->Click change ->Click SP->Click on Open all

Restart fone!

with nfree?
you have only mcu + ppm in that flash you're reading.
just don't care those errors until you're using fubu.
