English character in msg editor with Russian menu?

Hi.
How I get only english characters in msg editor with russian menu in 3310? In russian language selection makes menu to russian but also msg editor makes in cyrilic mode (not english characters+english character,but little bit complicated to use),so this makes people difficult to write sms to phones which russian language not supported phones. If I want to use only english characters in msg editor then I need to press many times keyboard. How to get rid of this? Maybe mcu or ppm patching?

Yeah, PPM patching would help you.

1. First, open your flashfile with PPMMaker v.1.05 (www.uniquesw.com) - greets to Al !
2. Open TEXT chunk
3. doubleclick on RUSS string - Text editor window would appear
4. Find the strings where you have text to be inputted from the "keyboard" - in ver. 5.55 its strings 1244-1261 (type it in thewindow above the button Go.
5. After you've changed all the values press OK.
6. Press Save

Then flash your phone with the new flashfile.
Don't forget to backup the flash before reflashing.
Don't forget to update FAID after reflashing.

IMPORTANT NOTE!

The above concerns everything you'll type from the phone:
msgs, reminder, phonebook, etc...
So you'd better move russian characters to the end of the string.

Hi.
You are god for me today. I had headache for 1 week solve this problemm. But you giving me solution. I love Russian cyrilic. Now If I can create customised Russian cyrilic font for siemens phones then our little nation still can continue to use cyrilic font system. Becuase of lack of using cyrilic font in computer and hand phones our goverment decided to use english font system for education.

I dunno how you can do that to SIEMENS phones...
