what hardware & software i need to flash a nokia 3310, 7210 or any nokia phones? Can i use ordinary data cable ?

Since i'm a newbie here .. i very confusing reading all these threads...

you'll need a DCT 3 flasher cable to flash 3310 using softwares like rolis 477 or 478b6, an a DCT 4 flasher cable to flash your 7210
using softwares like WinDCT4 or any other software
and u can not use a data cable for flashing your phone.
try reading the newbies FAQ for a more detailed info.
data cables can only be used to upload logos, ringtones(for the FBUS cable), update FAID, unlocking write IMEI(with the MBUS cable)

It is not possible to upgrade your phone using plane F or M bus cable (known generaly as Datacable). You'll need a flasher cable (completely differrent from yours). Check the dowload section for software.

Hii~

If ur Nokia 3310 is V 5.45 or above,u can upgrade a 3310 to 3315 with juz a data cable.But to flash a phone,u'll need a flasher cable wit the suitable connectors.

thank you ryan_chong for making my pointi can't be online very often so i can only try to reply as soon as possible which is about twice a week

a flasher cable is needed and perhaps a dongle for several types of phones(the new ones)
i believe that there is a software to flash and upgrade nokia 7650 but it requires a dongle and they say that it can change imei as well

i'can't confirm it yet since i don't have the dongle but i do have the software called 'griffin' a pretty weird soft and quite heavy but once you have the dongle it's worth it i guess.

Oops..:eek: Sorry...some mistaken here...
The version to convert a 3310 to 3315 wirth juz a data cable is V 5.57,not as stated above 5.45.Sorry man~ :P

ryan_chong is right . It depends on what you mean by upgrade.
