7650 upgrading of firmware version to 4.42

i went to a nokia care center just now to ask them to upgraede my 7650 they told me that it is not possible for upgrading cause its one way of repairing the phone so they reject my request because my phone has no defect what am i going to do i want to upgrade my phones firmware version to atleast 4.32 cause im tired of the same pallete which ive been using over and over again can somebody here help me upgrade my phone

Hi,

you must make a case of defect. First backup your datas and than install WildSkinz, Screensaver (activate it) and others till the mem is nearly full. Than shoot some photos. Now you get a mem warning. Anyway. Shoot another. Now you have a system crash. Play a little bit but you get a system error and fail to boot.

Now go to the NSC and say, you have a big soft prob, phone wouldt boot and nothing goes on. Ask for a repair - and a firmware update. You must get it.

where you from tidus??? i have the same problem with nokia care professional here in the philippines, they dont want to upgrade my firmware unless has a defect on it... eventhough it has a warranty on it, but the solution is, find another nokia repair shop near you

i had the sameproblem, just tell them that your phone hangs every once a while.


also, remove all the apps.

or ... make a backup first ...

then using a file manager, go to C:\system and delete the Mail folder .. i think that should do the trick ..

haven't tried it myself, just heard from ppl on forums ..

i dont wanna seem stupid or something... but since ive never done this to my phone b4.... what do u get out of upgrading ur firmware??

the attendant told me that once they format my phone and upgrade it to version 4.42 they are not liable to any damage the upgrade might cause to my phone which only means that the service they offer in upgrading is non warranty. one question to you guys does upgrading causes any problems to the phones software??

yup! because they don't backup your phone, just upgrade it to firmware, so be sure to back up by your self, it is just there disclaimer that you agree, remove all appz before you go to an authorize nokia repair shop after you backup, just format it to be sure
