i am having problems with editing sms alert tones in ppmedit. i am trying to edit the ASCENDING alert tone. i want the value in

RINGTONES INFO
ringtones name: mcu_ringtone34
type:SMS

not type:sms(increasing volume)

because if value in TYPE is SMS(increasing volume)... the tone doesnt come out right. i need to change the value to SMS only

please help!

don't use ppmedit for editing for it will ruin ur flash. I use it only for information of what to find on ur flash.

ex. this is not the true value im just giving example.

the hex data of ascending tone.

02430264287642414a7d768

find it within ur hexeditor and remember the address beore it where it has 000 then locate the pointer and u can relocate it to wherever u want without the limitation of shortness.

please check the tone's header with the unedited ones.

like "0002FD0A" - this header is for SMS Ascending tone.
after the byte "0A" comes the notes...

what do you guys use to edit the sms alert tone? ppmedit is the only tool i am using at the moment...

MCUTool by aZyWeRkS! it can change the 4 sms alert tones, even if you like to change it with the LONGEST tone...:)

Me, I use kxplorer... it has an option for d tone to be in ascending mode... :)
