DCT4 Dongle

Hi,

I have recently purchased a DCT4 dongle, i correctly plugged it into the printer port but whenever i open up the DCT4 software, a message comes up on the screen stating 'dongle not find'. I know the dongle is in working order as it has been cheked on a different PC.

My operating system is Windows XP Professional.

try userport!!

and check LPT settings in BIOS!! i think EPP+ECP is the right!!

Here's userport...it'll let you open up your ports in 2000/XP so that you can use the dongle. Also definitely check your BIOS (at boot up) to see if your printer port is configured correctly.

well in a brief and to help u not to loose effort and time trying and trying ...... none of the cheap flasher dongles do work under windows XP ... u have to use ME or 98....

How 'Bout Windows 2000? Cause I'm having a cheap dongle too(made in taiwan) & it works under Win98(my friend's notebook) but not on my desktop which run under windows 2000 SP3.(I try to install phoenix & Griffin, but it can't detect my dongle).

can someone please tell me whether it's the dongle not compatible with windows 2000 or the software?

I have a very cheap dongle (£10 - homemade)and my dongle has been working for over 2 months now on xp no problem, i did however use the userport first, but have not needed anything else, only bi directional port EPP+ECP
