Locked to AT&T, need to use it on Cingular...

Anybody ever figure out how to unlock a 7160 yet?

And yes I am aware the 7160 is old and big - it's just my favorite :D :D

Thats quite interesting if you have a 7160 LOCKED to AT&T, they were never sold by them.

The latest version Was v1.07 .. Which did not add anything just tried to fix the carkit and ringing tone issues.

And the 7160 is beyond OLD and BIG..... How about Slow,Quirky..

If sticking w/Tdma get yourself a 6360 which is a 7160 w/out all the headaches..

I have a 7160. I'm in Argentina and here there aren't almost any gsm phone. Everything here is tdma, cdma and amps (a bit old?).

The thing is that you can unlock the 7160 with the "nokia unlock". You have to do this:

1- Conect your 7160 to the pc (com1) with the mbus cable.

2- Run Nokia unlock

3- Press "unlock"

4- The phone will restore factory values (and you will loose everything).

5- Don't restart phone

6- Enter nam programing and write the system id, home soc, mobile number, etc. (or use Wintesla) - (the operator has to give you the values)- Here in Argentina it's: system id:32129, home soc:2062

7- Restart phone, and it will be working.

IMPORTANT: When you restart the phone, the home soc will stay locked with the value you entered. That's why you don't have to restart it before writing.
