A couple of things......8250 covers on a 8210, and software upgrade.

Hello everyone out there......

Hopefully you will be able to help me on something thats probably sooooo easy for all u lot.

1) I have an 8210 with the ultra bright blue leds and im wanting to get an ORIGINAL nokia 8250 case for it, i know that they have done a conversion kit as i saw one on ebay but i just missed it, and like everything u want, i couldnt find it again! (sods law)

2) Where is the best place for me to get a couple of 8210's software converted to an 8250? And what is the difference?

Any help would be much appriciated.

I have attached the 8250 software at the bottom! But make sure your 8210 is ROM 6! If it's Rom 5, your CPU is the wrong type and it won't work! You can check it in Nokia Tool by Rolis! It's in the DSP display! As for the covers, you can't use original covers because the button config is slightly different! But, if you want conversion covers check this out!

My current software version is 5.25. Can i not upgrade this to 6? and then do the flash. I've just purchased one of the cases, many thanks for the advice on that part.
I dont have a flasher cable myself, and was wondering if there was anyone out there that could do it for me?

Invest in a set of cables! They're quite cheap now! I paid 40 Pound for mine about a year and a half ago! If you shop around on google for flasher cables you'll find a cheap set (LPT)! Make sure you get 4 connections, 3210, 33xx, 8xxx, 6/5xxx! You'll make your money back in a few weeks just doing unlocks! Don't forget to get a data cable (Serial)!

Upgrade my software to version 6? Then use the converter to make it into an 8250?

Its not the software that needs to be 6 its the Rom Version!
It says it in a small box next to the security code on Nokia Tool!!

rom6 were introduced about halfway through v5.27 so yours will not be a rom6 mate im sorry. unless for some unexplainable reason your phone has been downgraded but i doubt it very much.

I know that one of my phones is rom 5, but my other 8210 that has blue leds i dont know the rom, its version 5.28, 24-05-01, nsm-3.
What does rom 6 offer that rom 5 doesnt then?
