Upgrade my 6610

First of all how can I know the current version of my phone software without anything extra like connecting it to my PC? How can I upgrade my phone to a newer version by myself? What are the versions available and how can I download them?

To find out the software version that the phone is using simple do this.

When the phone is in standby mode (i.e not calling, menu's open etc) type on the phones keypad *#0000# thats *#ZEROZEROZEROZERO#

Then the phone will display something like this

V 3.09 <--Software Version
02-10-02 <--Software Date Info
NHL-4U <--Nokia Internal Name for the phone
(c) NMP. <--Copyright Nokia Mobile Phones.

To upgrade the phone you will need DCT-4 flasher.

I don't have one yet so I can not help you on which is the best for you.
