Upload new Language to 3310 PLS Help

Hi
I would like to upload a new language to my Nokia 3310.
I have an ordinary Data Cable,but I don't know how to do it?
Which software I need and possibly where could I download it?Can anybody help me please.......

Hi,

You cannot do it with the data cable... You have to purchase a flasher cable and use a flasher program such as Rolis Flasher. Search the site to find it...

When I look for a Flasher cable to buy on the net ,the sites that show the picture of these cables looks exactly the same as the one I already have (data cable),unless you mean the "DCT4 Flasher"?It seems that the only difference is the box ,do you know if I can buy only the box as I already have the leads?

Yes they really look similar but in fact they are not. Data cable plugs into the serial port of your PC and is used for unlocking, upating FAID and changing IMEI, whereas Flasher cable plugs in the parallel port and is used to upgrade - modify the firmware version of your mobile phone... No the DCT 4 flasher is completely different as it uses box... 3310 is DCT 3 so there is no need to buy a DCT 4 flasher...

Just one thing as I already have the Data cable ,could I not just buy an adaptor
serial 2 parallel or do you think I have to buy the actual DCT3 ?

Hi,

No you can't because flasher cable is technologicaly different to the data cable (PCB, circuit and other stuff), so it will be useless.

I am afraid that you have to buy one...

Yes it looks like I have to buy one.Are they expensive?
Do you know,this DCT3 does it actually work with any other models apart from the 3310.
Also a friend of mine has an Ericsson T29 that would also like to
upload an additional language,do you know by any chance which tool he would have to buy to do that?

I think that it costs about 40 Euros... Yes there are flasher cables that have several terminations for each nokia DCT3 mobile phone. As for Ericsson I do not know but I am sure that it may be completely different...
